Tiger iron in gold

This is first substantial piece of tiger iron I've wrapped. It has a really interesting band of almost butterscotch colored tiger's eye surrounded by metallic bands and chocolate colored tiger's eye. What really sets this spectacular cab apart though is its striking shape. I'm afraid the pic doesn't show it, but the top of the cab is polished to a needle point, the work of a truly skilled lapidary artist. Gems like this make me nervous because I hate gaps in the wire around the stone (unless they're intentional) and trying to wrap these pointy little boogers without breaking off a tip is tough. I managed to keep the gaps to a minimum and kept the top intact.

The wire is 22g square 14k gold filled with 22g half round binding wires. The little oval is my signature tag which is hand stamped with my initials.
